Announcement. Please Read.

Well, as the several threads in this sub forum show, there has been in fact a change of ownership of the forums.

Most of the people that know me, know that the site is in good hands, however some may be in doubt due to previous, quick internet dealings with me, I am a person that speaks their mind, and because of that I may have left a sour taste in your mouth, don't worry that taste will definately sweeten in time as you get to know my intentions with rebuilding this site.

Let start with the dramatic resignations in General Discussion in the last 24 hours.

Kace: You have been a hard working admin, however in the last 6 or so months, your work, and your lack of interests have grown. Thanks for doing a great job, and it was a pleasure working with you.

Footose: You have helped quite a bit with change overs, updates, and you were one of the few guys that actually deleted/edited posts when it was necassary, I hate to see you go, however in the past there have been several occasions where we didnt quite see eye-to-eye.

Skuce: Who are you kidding? You were the only moderator that didnt actually resign. I removed your powers the second you started making things up and insulting me in mod/admin.

VM in 2007

1) I have no intention in making and money from this forum, infact, I will more then likely lose money. Advertisers, and Google ads will be removed as soon as the board moves into its new home (Faster Server), until further notice (more then likely forever).

2) I purchased this site as I saw it going to shit, and quickly. There was alot of hypocricy with what was being said, and how it was run, therefore a new moderating team is the only long term solution, as well as strickter rulers for the mod team to follow, I will announce the new mods before the 1st of Jan.

3) The Official members section always caused alot of discrimination between members and regular users, this made the regular users feel like shit, expecially those that have been around for a long time, offered plenty of help and were rejectes stricktly because of their car choice, or their inability to modifiy their car due to financial constraints. This section will be removed, along with the status for 2007.

4) New Forum; You will be introduced to a entirely new forum, New logo, new colors, new setup. Alot more features will be aloted to you then in the past, this alone will have the potential to save VM.

5) My Main focus: My main focus is not winning trophys at every show, it is however a large attendance at CSCS, and most importantly bringing weekly WED night meets back. I will go as far as renting a parking lot to make this happen, I have alot of ideas, it will take a little time however to bring them to life.

That pretty much sais it all, I appologize for not making this announcement sooner, I did however want to play things out differently then how some of the old moderators have played them.

Please let me know any comments, questions etc. my PM box is always open for suggestions, problems, issues.

Question: What is Nick's involvement in this? He's surrendered his reign, but will he still be a member?

I sure am sad to see a few of the veterans go They treated me really well, and I looked forward to every Thursdsay night at Moose's, and will miss that very much. However, I do agree that VM's status has slipped over the past year (judging by general morale around the boards and poor attendance at meets in 2006) and needs to refocus. I trust that you guys have a strategy and will do us proud. I will still offer to be a "VM girl" from May forward.

I wouldn't say it was poor attendance, more lack of meets, or availability of meets to the general club. Once the meets became repetative with the same cars/drivers showing, they exhasuted the flame.

It's not just the Official Members who made the club, it was the general public who joined us; and when they were cut from the scene, well, the made it mundane and boring

Also, some of the non-members who were showing up and showing off with burnouts kind of ruined it, as the club was either on police watch or banned from certain lots...will you have measures in place for that sort of thing?

As part of our dealings, I would like to keep Nick on as a Super Moderator, as well as "VM FOUNDER" status under his name, he has agreed to this, this will allow for all his previous ideas to be worked on.

I'm wondering the same thing, Steph. I hope all goes well, Renting a lot wouldn't be such a bad idea, i mean, the cost of doing it could be covered by a season opening BBQ or something... Just like the one that failed to happen this year, lol!

I'm all for helping out and trying to get this club back on it's feet, as I have nothing better to do with my time

Yes, the idea is either to hire a Lot attendant (who will take down a name and Plate number, and gather a signature from the driver), or to rent out a Police Officer, when we do get our new lot.

Season Opener BBQ will take place in one of the halls of a local Hotel, currently talking it over in terms of date.

It did. I really hope regular meets are brought back. It was the funnest part of VM in 2005 for me. I had a blast at the meets, and you got to meet everyone face to face, and car to car. Alot friendlier.

I hope Tom can turn this place around. Looking forward to the changes I guess.

Tom, I already love You. (in a non homosexual way however)

Sounds like things are going to make a great change around here, and I know You are the right man to do the job. I look forward to meeting you in person in the 2007 season and I hope all goes as planned!
