Question about rims

Okay so I might be buying a set of certain 20' rims off of someone and they seem to tell me that I can directley go from a 15' stock rim and tire to a 20' rim and tire with out making and modifications is this true they also said there where 100% positive that u would not have to make and changes to your speedometer or recalibrate it! is this true as i always thought when u change your tire size or rim size that the speedometer had to be recalibrated?? any help would be great!!!

For 20's I would think speedo definately has to be adjusted, rubbing may be a problem too? I don't know, do some research on forums aimed at your specific truck and see what others have done.

Nope...what is the tire size of your currents? if the overall dia. of the total wheel is the same (small rims big rubber...big rims small rubber)

Then your speedo won't change at all.

And also...most speedos besides totally electronic ones can't be re-calibrated

And I have a feeling I know who you're getting the 20's from

Check that. As long as your overall diameter doesnt change, you'll be fine. (assuming the car can take 20's, the offset is right, and you dont mind stopping slower than you could ever imagine...)

Yes, i know for a fact that everything is ok.
They are XXXXX's rims and he did all the things you are asking about.
The outside diamter of the tires is equal to that of the OEM 15" wheels. Tires were bought accordingly (hence, 'low profile tires'...onlt the 'middle' of the tire is bigger)
This is the key when buying bigger rims. When people say, ill go from 14" to 18" to help fill in the wheel gap, if the proper tires are bought, it actually wont help with that at all.

So yeah, you are ok
