And decided I was bored having a silver phone, so I did something about it...

The ones you can buy only include the battery door, and the outside of the flip part. I wanted it to be all the same colour.

Weezord, its not too hard to take apart. The only tricky bit is getting the flip part off the base, but even that isn't too hard.

My car isn't blue.... I also did the whole phone, not just the easily removable pieces. My old phone was painted as well, in green/purple colour shift. I can't seem to leave anything well enough alone.

If you can do it it can't be that hard

Time for silver/grey to black mica/gunmetal with red overlays, mmmm

Will you just take it apart or did to have help from any guides, the only thing that was keeping me from opening it up was the swiveling screen, it looks tricky

I just started taking stuff apart, and hoped I'd remember where it all went.

I got a little worried about how it was going to go back together after it was painted, since you have to pry the base open to get the flip part back in, and I thought I might chip the paint.

Did you think of using an overlay over the keypad at all to change the colours or didn't bother since it looks like its blue anyways? Was it right on the buttons or a seperated sheet?

I wanted to do that, couldn't find a fine enough philips screwdriver or alternative to take the tiny screws out!

The buttons are all once piece, and light up blue already. I was thinking about trying to paint the buttons as well, but that was WAY too much tedious masking to get it right.

Engine, nah... But I do plan on repainting my whole car this summer. Just have to find a good place to spray it(it won't fit in my basement... ).
