Zinger's new headlights *UPDATED w/ INSTALL PICS*

Recently helped Zinger with his headlights. He wanted to replace his black projectors with OEM headlights. So, I took the OEM's apart and removed all the amber reflectors and Steve then had them painted the EXACT same red as his car and I re-sealed them. Should look good once back on the car!
Heres what the OEM look like originally:

Now:

For reference, what he has now:

Looks very noice....

I would've done the disassembly/repaint to the projectors rather than OEM....but I'm sure he has a good reason for getting rid of the projectors.

aftermarket projectors have shitty output and dont fit as well as OEM...

this is funny coming from me but i think blackhousings look better with his two-tone than redhousings... we'll have to see them on the car!

Yeah the black projectors really tied in well with his theme so I will need to see pics of these installed before I can make a decision.

They look nice. Did you remove the orange side marker reflector from the headlight, tape it up or just paint over it?

to answer everyone's questions... Yes we took everything out! I used the OEM ones for the reason Ian said... the quality is shitty. I had HIDs in these projectors, and although they looked good they were hard to aim and just didn't do it for me like when I see HIDs on the stock head lights. So I bought HIDs for these ones, and that was the main reason lol. I will not be putting the carbon fiber eye brows back on. And although i agree with everyone that the black looks sick with my 2-tone concept, I thought since my black starts in the middle and continues on in a perfect pattern, never ending on the car ... that is would look just as good if not better if the red flows with the red, and the black stays where it belongs. If you look at my car up close there is no black anywhere else (minus the rims) so I wanted to keep it that way and see how it looks. Besides, it costs me $100 to paint, so I won't cry if I have to put the projectors back on

Hope that answers everyone's questions lol I will be installing them tonight, so I will send them to kris and he can post them up here for everyone to see.

looks good but I would have gone for the jdm stock black housing.

reasons are
it is stock, so it fits good
it is black housing which we already know looks good
it comes with hids from factory so you know the output is good

lets see a pic with the headlights on the car

Not daily lol but when things are working properly and weather permits, I drive it 2-3 times per week. It attracts too much attention and has no balls, so I stick with my subie most of the time

As for the other concerns...

Like Kris said, they are stock. I had them already, therefore did not pay anything for them, and oh let's see... looking at every other RSX that is out there with "JDM" headlights I wouldn't exactly look original now would i? THEREFORE, to keep ahead of the competition and knowing that i will get more points for a modified part I'm going to at least try the paint stock head lights with HID (which will also not have a problem with output and cost a hell of a lot less).

I for one think they look great! Reminds me quite a bit of the 94-01 USDM Integra headlights now (you know, its kinda got the quad-round circle look going on now). I think the reason some may not be overly inlove with them is because when they were black, they were BAM! in your face. Now, they are a lot more subtle which is good, cause they flow very well with the car! Alot classier, IMHO!

And like Steve said earlier, custom lights earn more than aftermarket bolt-ins!'

On to the pics!

Hmm..they look pretty good....but I dunno. I think the inside of the housing (that was painted) has too many angles to it. It's drawing the eye to it a lil too much. Taking away from the effect you were going for. I think you normally don't notice it when they're black or chrome...but since you have metallic paint it's highlighting the ridges and making them more prominant.

I think if the painted section was filled and smoothed it would look much better...and more uniform to the car.

I'm diggin the concept though!
