Lightbulb Danger to Manifold!!

So I finally pieced together the parts I needed to replace my old and bruk-up exhaust set up. My old DC ceramic coated header served it's time and with 2 cracks on it needed replacing. My beloved Apexi WS exhaust was the quietest ever but it hung too low (I know the feeling) and got scraped to hell and after 4 winters was finally rusting. Since I'm pretty much done with spending any money on the car, scheduled maintenance is what I told the wife this was. Got a brand new Megan Racing SS header for USD$100 and Vibrant was nice enough to hook me up with an axleback.

Here's the exhaust off and next to the lovely 10feet of stainless steel piping:

here's how you ruin a perfectly good header.. cut it in half:

why you ask? to do the H-T.com approved collector mod of course:

bottleneck no more!

mocking it up before final welding:

and the result:

and after one night's driving, it's already starting to change into that lovely shade of west indian brown... lol

buttdyno reports more throttle response under 3K and it's only a bit louder than the WS... lol

Looks good.. they should sell a kit to do that collector mod!! It seems like the bigger the motor the smaller the collector is for some of these aftermarket companies.

Im a fan of the WS but good job none the less. The collect mod looks like it would make a fair amount of difference as well.
